Rehabilitation Office      May 7 2007- a rehabilitation office for people with disabilities was opened. The rehabilitation course lasts 6-9 months. 5 or 6 people can be treated simultaneously during the course. A total of 5% people with spinal cord injuries received treatment.    We have the necessary equipment for rehabilitation – mats, a knee-supporter, specialized beds, balls, weights, etc.    Two physical therapists work regularly in the rehabilitation cabinet – Victor Gerasymyuk and Kateryna Malesyk. Physical therapy is also available in the home for those who cannot be transported; particularly recently injured people and children with cerebral palsy. Every day there are 4-6 people with disabilities who receive treatment at the rehabilitation office, as well as 2 persons who are treated in their homes.    Carrie Moss, a highly qualified physical therapist from US, came last year for ten months and shared her knowledge and experience in the field. We cannot express the joy of men and women who could stand for the first time in life, or change from horizontal to vertical position and stand on their own feet. |
